America’s New Breed of Freedom Fighters: With Liberty and Justice for All
a book by Evelyn Roberts Brooks
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that 2nd Edition, 2018. Welcome to the Garden of Democracy. As a nation, we need healing. Unleash your power to create positive change in the world. This book responds to the question posed by millions of people who want to know how to combat the Trump Administration and destructive agenda of Republicans in Congress. It offers advanced support, inspiration and encouragement for #indivisible #bluewave #swingleft #womensmarch #humanrights and all progressives.
The second edition includes the entire first edition and a new section called THE HEART OF PROGRESS, along with Barack Obama's call to action to tend to the GARDEN OF DEMOCRACY.
This Used to Be the Garden of Democracy—Now It Is the Garden of Greed
Together, we can and will defeat and neutralize Trump's extremist, hate-based agenda, using the laws of nature to attract success for the causes dear to the hearts of compassionate and progressive Americans. We can prevent the massive havoc and destruction that Trump and his supporters are championing. This book includes a crash course in using the laws of the mind such as the law of attraction in a more effective way than most of us ever learned.
I am here to make a difference. And I believe you are here to make a difference, too--a positive difference, not the kind of difference Trump and his "America First" supporters are enacting.
The world is moving toward globalization and interaction among nations--while Trump demands walls, deportations and other Hitleresque actions that appall sensible people. Even the Dalai Lama--voted the most beloved man in the world--suggests an anti-Trump program in his newest book about politics and the Trump-fed divisiveness among nations. Together, we can access the power of the mental laws to create the benefits and progress we desire for ourselves and future generations. Battling someone never leads to progress. It only leads to anger, resentments, and anxiety. When fear takes hold, it clings with a grip. We must loosen those barbs of fear and free ourselves to lift up into a higher, finer vibration of spiritual awareness. From that vantage point, we can have a broader perspective of the transformational times we live in, the inevitable fact that many people are still in the old mode of living and will resist and hate us for wanting to keep evolving and expanding.
America's Freedom Fighters are not defined by a specific skin color, ethnicity, age, gender, education, economic status or any other distinguishing feature. We're not a homogenized group. We are the People. When we fear and dread what the Republicans in Congress will do next, we become inadvertent collaborators—transmitting our invisible energy straight to them and feeding their greed for power. Let's not let that happen to America. It takes bravery to be a Freedom Fighter. It requires more compassion and self-control to practice nonviolence than to explode in anger. But the payoff is wonderful: we grow, expand, and create more joy in the world. Peace at any price? Not when it means kowtowing to the tantrums of a misogynist, narcissist and racist.
Trump wants us to respect his authoritah
You can't get happy results by thinking unhappy thoughts. I wrote this book to offer insight into how you create your life experience moment to moment, day by day. What would it feel like to know that you are making a difference in the world? Would it surprise you to realize that you do make a difference, every single minute? It's true, and what we have overlooked as a whole is that we are always making a difference, but we don't see that we affect everything either in a nurturing way or in a devolving way that brings about more of the unwanted all around us. However, when we take the time to step back from the emotional trauma and recall that we are all eternal spirits here for a reason, then we can make a choice as we ask ourselves: "Do I want to align with goodness, or do I want to align with fear?"
The decision is ours: do we move forward, or do we allow fear to mire us in the mud of inaction? This book provides information on how to peacefully manifest change.
Do we move forward, or do we allow fear to mire us in the mud of inaction?
Evelyn Roberts Brooks is a writer, transformational healer, lightworker, and speaker—a self-help guru who is trying to help us handle the Trump infection.
Brooks says: "Trump's role? He's not really the 'leader' of the Free World. Despite his claim that he is a 'stable genius,' and that he is 'the least-racist' person in the country, he's merely the clown on a jerry-rigged stage who keeps the media distracted and the crowd roaring in either glee or outrage, while his henchmen systematically loot the country."
'Bread and circuses' is a Roman expression meaning 'a diet of entertainment or political policies on which the masses are fed to keep them happy and docile'—Trump is the clown that distracts us while his henchmen loot the U.S.
One Amazon reviewer says that this book is for those who still view Trump as the same callously self-entitled, playboy/man and swindler he's always been, who's still missing that basic, moral compass the majority of us possess; therefore this book has very little to entice or to offer those who believe he's fundamentaly changed in his old age. He hasn't. And this book is for those who—most miraculous of all—believe that he cares about them and their issues. He doesn't. Because this is the same class of people he's spent his entire life swindling, cheating and stepping all over on his way to the top. Another pointed out that there's nothing wrong with Brooks' reasoning. At least she's reasoning, which is more than I could ever say about that clown in the White House. The old crotch-grabber is all for the moneyed interests (oligarchs, banks, Kochs, etc.), although the ignorant and downright stupid cannot and will not see that fact. He is all "Trickle Down" without the finesse of that other money-grubbing liar, Reagan.
Rumor has it Trump's reputation as a crotch grabber is well deserved—they even made hats to commemorate it
Marchers and protestors help with one critical goal: RESIST. So do organized citizen actions against the G.O.P. sellouts that have decided to join Trump's democracy demolition squad—get them out of office, force them to resign, start letter-writing campaigns that push them out by public demand.
If you love our country, Resist. And never ever give up. The way to ensure the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing
"I invite Democrats to Take Back Our Flag," says Brooks.
Brooks invites Democrats to Take Back Our Flag
"We cannot continue to align with thoughts and images of what we don't want to happen. We must keep our sight on being in harmony with the good we desire to create, and that means disciplining our emotions to respond rather than react to stimulus," says Brooks, in her typical self-help parlance. 'We used to call it brainwashing or propaganda when short, emotionally charged statements are reiterated to such a degree they become embedded in the minds of the listeners. Now we call it . . . Fox News.'" They call every crumb of news a FOX NEWS ALERT. One would think them crying wolf all day every day would have worn out its welcome. From the ratings, this hope is in vain—the rightwing watchers can't seem to get enough of these 24/7 "ALERT"s.
"As the ripples of our efforts bring forth a harmonious song of the universe, we will prevail over the destructive agenda of the Republican leaders," says you-know-who. She needs to decide if she's wring a book of bad poetry or resisting Trump. Choose one, Ms. Brooks!
"Our Allies are watching to see how we will handle this crisis in America: let's not disappoint them by hiding under the covers." Okay, that's more like it!
Our Allies are watching to see how we will handle this crisis in America: let's not disappoint them by hiding under the covers
Trump has insulted women, so the women are fired up. Trump has insulted people of color, so the people of color are fired up. Trump has insulted veterans, so the veterans are fired up. Trump has insulted our allies, so our allies are fired up. Trump has insulted the reporters, so the reporters are fired up. Trump has insulted Mexicans, so the Mexicans are fired up. Actually, it's hard to come up with any group he hasn't insulted. He singled out Megyn Kelly, saying "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. In my opinion, she was off base." This is a pure, unfiltered example of how deep Trump's vile misogyny goes. Megyn Kelly is a charming, talented, smart TV host who deserves respect. Moreover, it was noted during the 2016 election that she would make a heck of a lot better president than the Orange Oligarch.
By supporting Trump's democracy-destroying wrecking ball, Republicans stood to profit handsomely from extreme tax cuts, and more profits in businesses due to deregulation
Brooks says that if people wise up in the grassroots of the Republican Party, and they somehow institute reform of their platform, and if they can somehow vote out the extremists who have given their party a vile reputation, then they will have a chance to restore a party of decent values. The problem is that the Congresspeople that used to have better values are selling out to the Christmas presents that have been coming their way as rewards for their sellouts. Their values had said to protect democracy and the country from the extremists' greed and yet by supporting Trump's democracy-destroying wrecking ball they stood to profit handsomely from extreme tax cuts, and more profits in businesses due to deregulation. Their values said no, protect democracy, but their greed said yes, grab all the extra cash while we can. It was values against greed, and it was an easy choice for people whose values were so shallow they couldn't stand up to even the most elementary challenge.
The saddest part of this is how Fox News was their accomplice all the way through this feeding frenzy, lying, justifying their thievery with lame excuses or diversions, leaving few scraps at the trough in their frenzied greed
Greed won. Democracy lost. The Republicans look to most of us like shady crooks who did and do the exact opposite of what was in the best interests of their constituents. The saddest part of this is how Fox News was their accomplice all the way through this feeding frenzy, lying, justifying their thievery with lame excuses or diversions. When the evidence exposed the Trump feeding frenzy for what it was and is, the Fox News strategy was to change the subject to some very distracting event or product or movie star—i.e., if the reporting got too close to the truth, switch gears and get the viewers out chasing shiny objects. One never saw a truth teller on their network who exposed the ripoff in progress, the raping of the environment, the raw deal the new tax structure represented, and Republicans doing the exact opposite of what was in the best interests of their constituents. Fox had sold out, and the Trump voters that watched Fox bought all the lies, falling for the giant scam, hook, line, and sinker.
Fox News: if the reporting got too close to the truth that exposed the Trump feeding frenzy, switch gears and get the viewers out chasing shiny objects
The author believes that it's dangerous to make sweeping statements that label "all" Republicans as being against social change and the rights of the individual. But it's NOT that they are against social change and the rights of the individual. It's that they simply are less interested in the values they hold than they are at the wealth they will share if they "look the other way." This is nearly the definition of the word immoral. If one does not act on one's values, they are not really your values after all, but the things you are obliged to pretend to believe in when you are in front of the camera or within earshot of a constituent.
Most activists say activism is just something they feel they have to do, because the world is going to hell in a handbasket
The first political march Brooks attended was in 1969 in Washington, D.C., protesting the Vietnam War, when Richard Nixon (tricky Dick) was President. Next she marched in the Womens March in 2017 in New York City. Trump was president, setting an abysmal example full of crotch-grabbing misogyny, patriarchal treating of women as things to exploit, use, or degrade. Trump was right to make fun of liberals' over-the-top political correctness obsession that led to micro-aggression nonsense and whites as victimizers and blacks as victims, which led to racist black-skin privilege and white guilt and discrimination against whites for jobs, scholarships, and college admissions. In what world does even more racism put an end to racism? There is little so blind and naive as a liberal who KNOWS she is right.
But Trump's crotch-grabbing misogyny, patriarchal treating of women as things to exploit, use, or degrade was and is a disgrace to our country that makes all Republicans look like immoral sexual predators. Brooks was right to march for both causes, the first for stopping murders that were for the corporatocracy and the second was for female human rights.
As Brooks tells it, "As we marched we chanted 'Show me what democracy looks like! THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!' And when we march, these wonderful things begin to happen: We reinforce our commitment to democratic principles of liberty and justice, and freedom of speech. We feel energized by taking physical action, and this action also reinforces our determination to succeed against all odds. We make new friendships and renew old ones, as we join together in a growing coalition for progress." The more we can get high citizen participation in such democratic expressions of support for human rights, the better. The democracy has been under siege for decades until now it has transformed into an oligarchy. See Democracy—an American Delusion, America: What Went Wrong?, and Politics and Government.
So the more we can push back against this oligarchy, the better. In the Russian kleptocracy, pushing back against the oligarchy can get you jailed, beaten, even dead. Here it can do the same except for the dead part. In the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, there were many beatings and many people were jailed for expressing their Constitutional rights—apparently the oligarchy has no patience for the Constitution or for democracy.
The citizens were angry that the 1% were and are screwing the 99%, so they launched the Occupy Wall Street demonstration and were ignored by Wall Street and by shadow-government-controlled press as well. Those in charge didn't give a damn about the feelings of the exploited masses. But they also needed to ensure that the citizens didn't get any bright ideas about doing something about all this corruption of government and democracy. They did not want any of the sheep turning into wolves. So what did they do? They launched obscenely expanded U.S. intelligence operations, and they raised the levels of spying on innocent U.S. citizens by the NSA.
Wall Street Protest: Occupy Wall Street—Copyright © 2011 by Louis Lanzano
What changed after the heartfelt, sincere Occupy Wall Street protests where we were telling the powers-that-be that their transference of wealth from the 99% to the 1% was getting sickeningly unfair? Nothing. Who listened? Only others of us 99%ers. Not a single 1%er even bothered to glance in the protesters direction.
'You know, Archibald, my bladder is a tad too full—do these windows open? I'd like to send my regards to those pesky OWS protesters'
It turned out that even though the government has told us all the NSA spying was to protect us and prevent "terrorism," the citizens were getting suspicious—about everything. About 9/11 and how that led to a trumped-up War on Terror which then led to the oligarchs creating a national security state to "protect us," although the evidence shows the NSA hasn't protected anyone or caught any terrorist plots. But it has oppressed various U.S. citizens and violated their rights, and in so doing it might as well have burned the Constitution too. See The Rise of the American Corporate Security State.
Here an NSA thug is burning the Constitution
Trump's dismantling of democracy, regulations, safety, the environmental protections, fair tax structures, and reasonable border policies confused the rubes that voted for him, but he told them he'd make things great again so they guessed this is what 'great' is like so they stuck by him
Trump made the country 'great again' for the rich and everyone else got screwed
Brooks says "Until the day that the Republican Party undergoes a gut renovation, like when someone buys an old home and has to get rid of the garbage and stench that built up from neglect, the solution is to vote Republicans out of office."
The solution is to vote Republicans out of office, says Brooks
But is that really the solution? Yes, it is vital to get rid of these Republican sellouts, but what is there to replace them with? Hillary was going to be Obama 2.0 in a skirt. We'd have loved to see a woman as President, but she was going to keep the war going, be a hawk, support all the rotten establishment positions, keep the political correctness obsession going—probably making it worse, keep the white guilt and the affirmative action racism going as well as the lies about lots of white-on-black crime when the reverse is true—there's an epidemic of black-on-white crime. She would also keep going the micro-aggression nonsense and whites as victimizers and blacks as victims, and discrimination against whites for jobs, scholarships, and college admissions. In what universe does even more racism put an end to racism? So if anyone from any party would reverse the harm the Republicans have done as well as stop the political correctness obsession and its many ugly parts, they'd surely get our votes.
There is no evidence Brooks sees any of this, or understands how liberal extremism has wrecked many aspects of the American Dream—especially for white people whose only crime is having white skin. She merely supports the CW of the Democrats, in spite of the fact that there is "wisdom" in only a small part of it.
Bernie Sanders: now is the time to stop the movement toward oligarchy. Now is the time to create a government which represents all Americans and not just the 1%
Bernie Sanders said "Now is the time to alter our government. Now is the time to stop the movement toward oligarchy. Now is the time to create a government which represents all Americans and not just the 1%... No more excuses. We must all become involved in the political process." See The US is an oligarchy, study concludes.
George Washington: beware unprincipled men that will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government
George Washington said "However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." This guy told the future! He predicted Trump!
