Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump
a book by Vicky Ward
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that The first explosive book about Javanka and their infamous rise to power.
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are the self-styled Prince and Princess of America. Their swift, gilded rise to extraordinary power in Donald Trump’s White House is unprecedented and dangerous. In Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, investigative journalist Vicky Ward digs beneath the myth the couple has created, depicting themselves as the voices of reason in an otherwise crazy presidency, and reveals that Jared and Ivanka are not just the President’s chief enablers: they, like him, appear disdainful of rules, of laws, and of ethics. They are entitled inheritors of the worst kind; their combination of ignorance, arrogance, and an insatiable lust for power has caused havoc all over the world, and may threaten the democracy of the United States.
Ward follows their trajectory from New Jersey and New York City to the White House, where the couple’s many forays into policy-making and national security have mocked long-standing U.S. policy and protocol. They have pursued an agenda that could increase their wealth while their actions have mostly gone unchecked. In Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, Ward holds Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump accountable: she unveils the couple’s self-serving transactional motivations and how those have propelled them into the highest levels of the US government where no one, the President included, has been able to stop them.
Here, Prince Jared cries his eyes out about Christie putting his powerful father behind bars as Princess Ivanka looks on—it affected Jared deeply. Did this really happen? (We invented it.) Who knows if anything in this tabloid-book happened? Where's the evidence?
Vicky Ward is a New York Times bestselling author, investigative reporter, and magazine columnist. She is the author of the bestselling books "The Liar’s Ball: The Extraordinary Saga of How One Building Broke the World’s Toughest Tycoons" and "The Devil’s Casino: Friendship, Betrayal and the High Stakes Games Played Inside Lehman Brothers." Her latest book is Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. She is an editor at large at HuffPost and HuffPost’s long-form magazine, Highline, as well as at Town & Country magazine. She was a contributing editor to Vanity Fair for eleven years, where she covered politics, finance, art, and culture.
Jared tosses all thirty binders of the transition plan in a Trump Tower dumpster, never to be seen again, all because of ego because he disliked Christie, and sadly, the Orange Oligarch let him do it, helping him pour crap all over the Trump presidency and explaining how Trump got off to such a rocky start
Steve Bannon told Christie 'The kid’s been taking an ax to your head with the boss ever since I got here, it’s been constant. He never stops. Ancient bitterness, I guess.'
Trump was supposed to be Christie's friend but he threw Christie under the bus about Bridgegate as well as the Trump transition team, and he enjoyed it—some friend!
It turns out that Jared's father was crooked and his short jail sentence was a gift, given all the crimes. But rather than seeing reality, Jared blamed his father's jail sentence on Christie—who was just doing his job. What Jared and his father both needed to learn is that actions have consequences and if you can't do the time don't do the crime. But the father placed blame everywhere but on himself and his son Jared placed blame only on Christie. So he sabotaged the Trump transition team, acting not like a good son-in-law but a backstabbing, entitled, spoiled, pouting, narcissistic brat. Ivanka should have married someone else.
This book by Vicky Ward is a hit job on both the Trumps and the Kushners, similar to Born Trump: Inside America’s First Family. Let's face it, these were easy targets. A boring gossip book about a clan of rich, spoiled, gilded Trumplanders who are in way over their heads in a White House that epitomizes the last place on earth they belong. Vicky Ward did what liberals do: bitch about conservatives, Republicans, and specifically the Trumps. Donald Trump is shown in a very unflattering light: disorganized, impulsive, adverse to any sort of criticism or advice. Ward has a far-left point of view, and often injects a leftist point of view as fact.
Vicky Ward was simply hopping onto the Trump hate train, by finding Javanka to be despicable, self serving and corrupt, but showing little evidence to support her conclusions
Jared and Ivanka are a prime example of why no prior administration and no future administration has ever or should ever allow relatives into the White House. They can't be fired and the president can't say no very often to Jared and Ivanka. It's been very lucrative for the Prince and Princess to control access to President Trump. The vast majority of Vicky Ward’s audience is comprised of anti-Trumpers who will be further inflamed by the chutzpah of Javanka—IF Ward can be believed. Which is not a given. Hit pieces sell more copies than lovefests, so the former occupy the majority of cyberspace ebooks. Javanka's ignorance is indisputable, nor is the fact that they belong on reality shows, not in the White House. Jared is likely to push things too far and end up behind bars, like his father. But after Trump pardons him, he won't be invited back to the White House.
The book shines a light on where Jared came from, and on the Kushner family, as well as on Ivanka
Ward’s Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump shines a light on where Jared came from, and on the Kushner family, and how despite their strong affiliation with their Jewish faith, they have always been "disdainful of rules, laws, and ethics" and are focused upon an agenda that would increase their wealth with little or no regard for what is good for their country. Like most rich elites. Are Jared and Ivanka the evil Ken and Barbie in the White House? Or are they merely ignorant and inexperienced?
Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump is full of tabloid-soaked events, surprising insights, previously untold stories, and depressing tales of ineptness and naivete. Is this a book or merely a fat tabloid?
"Jared understood the online world in a way the traditional media folks didn't. He managed to assemble a presidential campaign on a shoestring using new technology and won. That's a big deal," says Schmidt, the Google billionaire. "Remember all those articles about how they had no money, no people, organizational structure? Well, they won, and Jared ran it. . . . [the paradoxes that Jared represents:] He brought the Silicon Valley ethos, which values openness and inclusiveness, to a campaign that promised closed borders, trade protection and religious exclusion. He is the scion of prodigious Democratic donors yet steered a Republican presidential campaign. A grandson of Holocaust survivors who serves a man who has advocated a ban on war refugees. A fact-driven lawyer whose chosen candidate called global warming a hoax, linked vaccines to autism and challenged President Obama's citizenship. A media mogul in a campaign stoked by fake news. A devout Jew advising a president-elect embraced by the alt-right and supported by the KKK. . . . If even the slightest infraction against what the speech police have deemed correct speech is instantly shouted down with taunts of 'racist,' then what is left to condemn the actual racists?" Some can think of the Kushners as pickpockets or ethical midgets, but we think of them as maybe pickpockets or ethical midgets, but maybe not
One Amazon reviewer suggests we count our fingers after you shake hands with any of the Kushners. All real estate tycoons get reputations as sharks eventually because in order to rise to the top you have to do what Trump and the Kushners did, cut corners, push the legal and ethical limits, find bargains, buy low and sell high, and beat the other guys to the punch. Some can think of the Kushners as pickpockets or ethical midgets, but we think of them as maybe pickpockets or ethical midgets, but maybe not. It is easy to envy billionaires, less easy to try to understand them and learn from their clever moves as well as their mistakes, including ethical lapses. The author did a great job of showing just how dangerous these two ignorant know-nothing people (Javanka) are ruining our democracy. However, the book had almost 99% unnamed sources so iits credibility is less than stellar.
The Jared and Ivanka apples don't fall far from the Trump tree, according to Ward—this is surely true about Jared, but not necessarily true about Ivanka
Some reviewers guess that Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump may be about envy from Ward to our new U.S. princess and prince. Money, beauty, power, position—they've got it all. The only thing missing is respect from the liberals. Respect from the conservatives is mostly there. In today's superpolitisized environment, you'd expect little respect from the left, and the disdain they show is simply the price of doing business. But people don't get into politics to be loved as half the country disliking you, regardless of which side of the aisle you reside on, is a given.
Ivanka has been carefully positioning herself as Donald Trump’s political heir
According to Ward, "Ivanka Trump has made no secret of the fact that she wants to be the most powerful woman in the world. Her father’s reign in Washington, D.C., is, she believes, the beginning of a great American dynasty… Ivanka has been carefully positioning herself as [Trump’s] political heir."
One Amazon reviewer thought that, based on this book, it seems that the two Kushners had arrived at their more leftward tilt based on what their intellect deduced. Such leads me to believe that their hearts were not really in it and, hence, they were ineffectual with her father. Both of them had been Democrats prior to Trump's unexpected win in 2016.
The Kushner family was a close-knit real estate family who, like the Trump family, considers itself above the law and a family that should not have to follow the rules.
Trump didn't Make America Great Again, he Made American Oligarchs Even Richer Again, and his supporters are too dumb to see what happened
Trump doesn't care abour laws, Constitutions, or democracy. He cares about himself and about power, so he wants us to respect his authoritah
Wrecking ball Republicans are coconspiring with Trump to wreck democracy to rig the game so they get even richer
