Keith does an outstanding job of detailing the origins of psychological and technological social control, as well as naming the organizations, such as the Tavistock Institute (which many believe is the world’s center for mass brainwashing and social engineering activities), that were behind much of the push to implement this social control agenda in society. The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations has had a profound effect on the moral, spiritual, cultural, political and economic policies of the United States of America and Great Britain. It has been in the front line of the attack on the U.S. Constitution and State constitutions. No group did more to propagandize the U.S. to participate in WWI at a time when the majority of the American people were opposed to it. Much of the same tactics were used by the Social Science scientists at Tavistock to get the United States into WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Serbia and both wars against Iraq. In any case, other quite notable aspects of societal control that Keith delves into include how society is being dumbing down, how ideology is often manipulated, how the subversion of sex is used, and the erasing of the individual by molding him into a mindless robot.

Researchers will already know about official mind control programs such as the well-known Project MKUltra, which is sometimes referred to as the CIA’s mind control program. It was the code name given to an illegal program of horrendous, illegal, vicious experiments on human subjects, designed and undertaken by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The program is admitted by the CIA and there were plenty of witnesses and victims and lots of evidence: i.e., the existence of Project MKUltra is an admitted, proven fact.

Experiments on humans were intended to identify and develop drugs and procedures to be used in interrogations and torture, in order to weaken the individual to force confessions through mind control. The program consisted of some 149 subprojects which the Agency contracted out to various universities, research foundations, and similar institutions. CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MKUltra files destroyed in 1973, so the senate committees that later investigated these sanctioned crimes against our citizens were working in the dark and relying on testimonies. The program (1953 to 1973) was a response to paranoia about our enemies. Its aim was to develop mind-controlling drugs for use against the Soviet bloc, largely in response to alleged Soviet, Chinese, and North Korean use of mind control techniques on U.S. prisoners of war in Korea. The CIA wanted to use similar methods on their own captives.

As the author details, not only do these sick programs have a streak of cult practice in them, but they also feature a collection of extreme abuses with the use of drugs, as well as psychological abuses as individuals were made in every which way (including electroconvulsive "therapy" machines—ECT) to bend to the will of the depraved comptrollers running the programs.

What’s worse is that the concealment of this abuse took place for a really long time, with many subjects unknowing of what took place due to the psychological programming that took place during the experiments. This is accomplished by erecting “pseudo-scholarly fronts to disprove that such misdeeds exist. One such group is the False Memory Syndrome Foundation, a group of psychiatrists whose mission is to prove that cult abuse and mind control are figments of the imagination.” The FMSF has been accused of misrepresenting the science of memory, protecting child abusers and encouraging a societal denial of the existence of child sexual abuse. The FMSF has been described as reversing the gains made by feminists and victims in gaining acknowledgment of the incestuous sexual abuse of children. It's extremely disturbing that we live in a society that can not only carry out such torture and abuse experiments, but, after being caught doing so, continues its attempt to sweep its misdeeds under the rug. Then again, those running the show—besides still being in power—have no respect for humanity, so it is not that surprising.

John Coleman, author of The Tavistock Institute for Human Relations, tells us that "Perhaps we can now begin to understand how it was that Wilson, Roosevelt, Clinton, Bush the elder and the younger could so easily lead American into disastrous wars in which its people should never have become involved. . . . As will be seen, propaganda was to play a major role." And that is the job description of the CIA, of course.

Coleman goes on: "Well, did Henry Ford say that 'people deserve the government they get' if the people do nothing to turn that [corrupt] government out of office, such as is the right of the American people under their U.S. Constitution, then they deserve to have liars and deceivers [Dubya Bush, Obama, etc.] running their nation and their lives."

Coleman: ". . . we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons . . . who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind, who harness old social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world. In Propaganda, Edward Bernays followed his praise of the 'invisible government' by underscoring the next phase that propaganda techniques would follow: As civilization has become more complex, and as the need for invisible government has been increasingly demonstrated, the technical means have been invented and developed by which opinion may be regimented." And finally, Coleman says "We can arouse the nation, but only if a concerted effort is made at the grassroots level. The solution to the problem lies in educating Americans and by unified action. There is a great and compelling need to educate the millions of people as to what the secret manipulators are doing, and more importantly, just how, and why they are doing it. Urgent constitutional action is needed to bring this about. There are many leading citizens, who have the power and the financial means to start a grassroots campaign. . . . A grassroots movement, properly educated and acting in concert, is the only way . . . that we are going to win our country back from the dark and evil forces that have it by the throat." Or, simply put, there are several aspects of our lives in the U.S. that have gotten out of control:

• The CIA, the so-called intelligence services, and the NSA, the so-called security apparatus and the surveillance state, the police state
• The neocons' warmongering and empire building, the private military contractors (Blackwater charges the government $1,222 per day for the services of a private military contractor—equivalent to $445,000 per year, over six times more than the cost of an equivalent U.S. soldier.)
• The lying politicians that make a mockery of democracy and elections since they say one thing but do another and the citizens have no way to hold them to their promises, U.S. foreign policy
• The shadow government and the neocon oligarchs who run it—these people are in control of our country
• The national debt, the budget, spending on wars the citizens don't want and cannot afford

The War on Drugs takes good people and turns them into criminals every single minute of every single day. The system is set up in such a way that it fans the flames of violent crime by essentially building a factory that turns out violent criminals.

The system knows this too — as the very existence of the police state is dependent upon the drug war. When drugs are legal, there are far fewer doors to kick in, fines to collect, profit prisons to fill, and money to steal.

We need to transform from mass-controlled automatons to autonomous, free, self-controlling humans

Happily for the powers-that-be, the only thing needed to "silence and contain" non-conformists, true journalists with integrity, questioners, thinkers, skepics, seekers of truth, and autonomous people in general, is to marginalize them into relatively tiny blogs and ebooks at the same time those in charge of the mass media (the CIA, which gets directed by the shadow government) keep up the constant propaganda and brainwashing and keep referring to any information or websites or books or ebooks that don't tow the party line and collude with the propaganda as conspiracy theorist gibberish, wackos, nut cases, or—more recently—FAKE NEWS. The sad thing is that most people let the media pundits do their thinking for them, so they believe the mainstream media propaganda, NOT the non-conformists, true journalists with integrity, questioners, thinkers, skepics, seekers of truth, and autonomous people in general, who actually have something valuable to say.
