Militant Normals: How Regular Americans Are Rebelling Against the Elite to Reclaim Our Democracy
a book by Kurt Schlichter
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that Militant Normals: How Regular Americans Are Rebelling Against the Elite to Reclaim Our Democracy, written by one of the conservative movement's wittiest commentators, is a no-holds-barred takedown of the preening elites who have all but made normalcy a crime in America.
Donald Trump is only the beginning of a mighty disruption in American politics and culture, thanks to the rise of the militant Normals in America.
Donald Trump is only the beginning of a mighty disruption in American politics and culture, thanks to the rise of the militant Normals in America
They built this country, they make it run, and when called on, they fight for it. They are the heart and soul of the United States of America. They are the Normals, the regular Americans of all races, creeds, preferences, and both sexes who just want to raise their families and live their lives in peace. And they are getting angry.
The Normals are the regular Americans of all races, creeds, preferences, and both sexes who just want to raise their families and live their lives in peace—and they are getting angry
For decades they have seen their cherished beliefs and beloved traditions under attack. They have been told they are racist, sexist, and hateful (poliical correctness), but it was all a lie. Their ability to provide for their families has been undermined by globalization with no consideration of the effects on Americans who did not go to Harvard, and who live in that vast forgotten space between New York and Santa Monica.
A smug, condescending elite spanning both established parties has gripped the throat of the nation
A smug, condescending elite spanning both established parties has gripped the throat of the nation. Convinced of their own exquisite merit while refusing to be held accountable for their myriad failures (PC being the most visible), these elitists managed to suppress the first rumblings of discontent when they arose in the form of the Tea Party. But they were stunned when the Normals did not simply scurry back to their flyover homes. Instead, the Normals came out in force and elected Donald Trump.
Now, as the ruling caste throws everything it can into the fight to depose Donald Trump and reestablish unchallenged control, the Normals face a choice. They can either surrender their country and their sovereignty, or they can become even more militant.
Elites against non-elites is how the civil war is being framed, however Democrats=liberals=elites is a gross oversimplification glossing over complexities of many kinds
Does anyone but us sense a civil war in the making? Them's fightin' words, Schlichter. The rabble rousers are at it again. A demagogue or rabble-rouser is a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation. Trump did that from the get-go.
Apparently those who write pro-Trump tomes feel obliged to formulate their works in the same partisan, polarized, scorched-earth, take-no-prisoners way Trump does. This qualifies them as Trumpsters, Trumpettes, Trumpers: someone that has given up all free thought since Trump's demagogic speeches have brainwashed them to think that Trump is infallible no matter how many ridiculous lies he spouts. Our country is bifurcated and politically polarized. It needs not war but devolution. Right will NEVER listen to Left and Left will NEVER listen to Right. But Right can get along with Right and Left can get along with Left. War would devastate the country, and leave only rubble and ashes and shattered lives behind. So devolution it is. Right?

Trump rally 2017
According to Brian Klaas, "The Founding Fathers of the United States anticipated that this moment would arrive. They designed a system built to withstand a divisive demagogue. They put checks and balances in place. They carved out a separation of powers that makes it difficult to consolidate power in a single person. But their enduring genius is being tested in ways they could not have anticipated. Americans are split, and despots are most likely to emerge when the political or economic system — or both — fractures. As a nation fractures, it creates an opening that an opportunistic, self-interested demagogue can exploit. That opening now exists in America. Donald Trump is starting to exploit it." (Source: Of course it can happen here: Trump’s no despot — but he’s no friend to democracy, Brian Klaas, Salon)
The U.S. is anything but 'the United States'—it's fractured into 3 countries: Bubbaland, East Liberalland, and West Liberalland. It would solve a lot of problems if this devolution was made official

We’re in the middle of a non-kinetic civil war between the Normals who built, feed, and defend this country and an elite that can’t – or worse, won’t – even stop hobos from defiling our sidewalks
"We’re in the middle of a non-kinetic civil war between the Normals who built, feed, and defend this country and an elite that can’t – or worse, won’t – even stop hobos from defiling our sidewalks. We face a decision point – what next? Either we get even more militant – Trump was a symptom, not the cause – or our useless ruling class, which hates our guts, is going to stamp its Birkenstocks into our faces forever." There were Normals who supported Bernie Sanders
Schlichter tells us ". . . some Normals are on the left—there were Normals who supported Bernie Sanders. They feel the high and mighty are giving them a raw deal, and many of them chose Trump over Hillary Clinton for just that reason." And Hillary shot herself in the foot with the email debacle, the "basket of deplorables" goof, Benghazi where four casualties happened on her watch—followed by a cover-up, and her inability to understand how the electoral college works, to the point of making no "yuge" effort in the three swing states—Trump made a yuge effort."
Hillary shot herself in the foot with the email debacle, the "basket of deplorables" goof, Benghazi where four casualties happened on her watch
Many were sceptical of Hillary's elitist ideas, but her 'basket of deplorables' comment was the last straw for many voters in red and swing states
Schlichter then tells us ". . . combined with their own class prejudices and the temptation to preserve and enhance the privilege and power that comes with their status, the Elite has allowed itself to believe that the Normals are mindless, racist bigots bewitched with religious nonsense and an irrational love of firearms. Class membership has thereby become a moral test, and the Normals fail. . . . what America did when faced with the political equivalent of choosing between a cold sore and leprosy. [Hillary and Jeb Bush]"
Schlichter figures that choosing between Hillary and Jeb Bush would be the political equivalent of choosing between a cold sore and leprosy (now tell us how you REALLY feel)
Schlichter: "[Normals] are done tolerating an uppity Elite that has screwed up its macro task of running society’s institutions yet has taken unto itself the job of micro-regulation of Normals’ lives. You see, the Elite finds the Normals morally deficient and thinks it has to correct them. . . . Normals want to be able to support their families without being disrespected by Elitist snobs and without being exploited by the ruling class. They prefer their kids not get killed fighting wars the politicians who send them do not consider important enough to win."
Normals do not want their kids used as cannon fodder for senseless elite-launched wars
"A grassroots movement against one kind of cultural squishiness has taken off and lately reshaped our national politics—the opposition to political correctness." Schlichter says that rather being denigrated by social justice warriors and smug late-night hosts about the alleged flaws liberals always seem to find in them, Normals want a modicum of respect
Schlichter says that rather being denigrated by social justice warriors and smug late-night hosts about the alleged flaws liberals always seem to find in them, Normals want a modicum of respect. The pie in the face, below, is how Normals who are not politically correct should be treated, according to the sick Elite orthodoxy, but we do not buy it, nor does Schlichter.
April 8, 2005: David Horowitz was hit in the face with a pie Wednesday during a speech at Butler University. The attack was the third incident in the last 10 days in which a conservative speaker has been doused with food while trying to speak on a Midwestern campus. SJWs are going insane and getting violent and crazy. Where exactly is these conservative speakers' "social justice"?
Masked anarchists use force to block conservatives from speaking in public forums. The free speech crisis on and off campus will not be solved until the premises of victimology are challenged directly and exposed as fraudulent. In Schlichter-think, the Elite didn't just botch its job of running our institutions and providing us a stable society and economy, though it has indeed botched those things. The flyover Elites have also decided to declare war on the Normals who make up the backbone of this country because it just cannot live knowing the Normals are out there living free and uncontrolled. And in doing so, the Elites ignited a conflict which we're living through currently.
Political correctness is an attempt at mind control over the Elites and Normals alike, an attempt that occurs in academia's not so hallowed halls out of sight of parents and lawyers. But—happily—the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) is starting to sue them for their ugly breach of trust.
Political correctness is an attempt at mind control over the Elites and Normals alike that occurs in colleges, but mind control is also perpetrated 24/7 by the mass media and the corporatocracy for control and profits. See Media Sexploitation.
The elites have been running our lives and telling us all what to do, while mocking and demeaning us on a daily basis in the media, in Hollywood, in academia, and in government. Well, they all found out November 2016 what we all think of these snobby elitists.
