Still Winning: Why America Went All In on Donald Trump—And Why We Must Do It Again
a book by Charles Hurt
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that Learn why President Trump is the ideal changemaker that can put an end to America's uncontrollable and corrupt system of government ruled by special interests.
Still Winning: Why America Went All In on Donald Trump—And Why We Must Do It Again is the story of the unlikeliest of heroes who emerged from the unlikeliest of places to take up the impossible cause of a truly forgotten people. They are people who love their country, trust their higher God, obey laws and will do anything for their family and neighbors. They are the very people the Founders envisioned when they hatched the radical idea of self-governance.
This is the story of a Leviathan government — the most powerful political force in the history of mankind - that has become dangerously unmoored from the people it represents. It is the story of how elites and the politically comfortable controlling both parties in Washington have utterly lost touch. They don't even realize how much the people they represent despise the uncontrollable Leviathan.
The Leviathan has grown untamable. Democrats and Republicans run for office year after year on promises they have no intention of keeping. Neither side wants to fix a single problem. The whole thing has become one giant ungovernable, corrupt Ponzi scheme
The establishment has tried their best to ignore Donald Trump—except to brand him as a racist, a xenophobe, an isolationist, and a dangerous, violence-inciting war monger. All standards of reporting vanished. In the era of Trump, no sort of criticism was off-limits. They openly mocked his looks, ridiculed his private business accomplishments, pilloried his family and children and made fun of his foreign-born wife for her accent!
The Leviathan has grown untamable. Democrats and Republicans run for office year after year on promises they have no intention of keeping. Neither side wants to fix a single problem. The whole thing has become one giant ungovernable, corrupt Ponzi scheme that—one day—will come crashing down.
Charles Hurt advocates for the "Nuclear Option" for dealing with this mess: just blow the whole damned thing up. Whatever is presidential or diplomatic, let's try the opposite. Whatever these people in Washington find most horrifying, let's try that. Finally, the multi-headed Leviathan swamp monster has met the perfect dragon slayer in Donald Trump. Still Winning: Why America Went All In on Donald Trump—And Why We Must Do It Again examines each corrupt head of this Leviathan, and why Donald Trump is the only good answer to fixing it. Donald Trump is the nuclear option for our times—and the last best option for making America great again.

Hurt says "All pretense of fair journalistic standards vanished. Reports presented as investigative journalism were often go-for-the-jugular attacks. To be sure, of course, Trump’s long and unorthodox run as a womanizer and cutthroat business mogul yielded ample derogatory material."

"It’s not even a race between ideologies anymore,” said HBO host Bill Maher in October 2016. “It’s not Republican and Democrat or conservative and liberal. It’s reality versus alternative reality.”
It’s not Republican and Democrat or conservative and liberal. It’s reality versus alternative reality—which requires an alternate universe
Hurt says "The first sign to me of what lay ahead was how quickly the unity behind the Iraq War crumbled. Not because things got ugly in Iraq—all war is ugly—but rather because the next election cycle was fast upon us and politicians were doing the smooth-shoe to abandon any principle that had become inconvenient. For Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry and his running mate, John Edwards, their commitment to the troops they had voted to send into battle lasted only until it became politically expedient for them to turn tail and run."
The first sign to me of what lay ahead was how quickly the unity behind the Iraq War crumbled, says Hurt; but the Iraq invasion has been recognized to be a devastating mistake for many years
Hurt couldn't be more wrong. Support for the Iraq War crumbled because it was wasting money, lives, and our American reputation and giving us no results except Islamic contempt for our unprovoked attack on one of their countries. We were lied into war and lied to about the war. Kerry and Edwards were smart enough to see that oilman Bush wanted his paws on their oil and Halliburton's Cheney wanted his paws on lucrative military contracts. And insulting veteran Kerry as an opportunist is wrong. Helping Dubya get their oil was not patriotic. It was foolish gullibility and collaboration. The whole Iraq invasion thing has been recognized to be a devastating mistake for many years. Trillions of dollars down the drain, the hatching of ISIS, thousands of our military personnel killed or wounded, and with nothing to show for it. Maybe Hurt is a slow thinker or a slow learner?
It's likely there are billboards like these—or there will be—since most Iraqis recognize that things were much better when Saddam Hussein ruled and before Americans invaded—if only Hurt knew it
Hurt says "Then came eight years under President Obama, the insufferable merchant of false hope. He had run a thrillingly positive campaign in 2008, then proceeded to govern like a corrupt Chicago alderman, weaponizing the IRS and the Department of Justice and politicizing everything he touched. He turned the cops into bad guys. He went to Egypt and apologized for America’s oppression of countries and their people around the world."
Obama governed like a corrupt Chicago alderman, weaponizing the IRS and the Department of Justice and politicizing everything he touched
Hurt is right about Obama, except for the "apologized for America’s oppression of countries and their people"—about the only thing Obama ever did right.
Obama says 'I am not a crook' but we know better
Obama played the race card for political gain often
Campuses oozed with the ugliness of political correctness and identity politics; no learning was occurring, but tons of indoctrination happened—We, Hurt and Trump all hate this PC crap
Hurt says "Under Obama, the Democrat Party’s embrace of 'identity politics' reached a fevered pitch. Their political playbook of racial division was no longer a thing of secret memos between Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The party as a whole came to embrace out-and-out racial political warfare—and what that amounted to was the most highly synchronized display of pure racism the country has ever seen." Here Hurt is totally correct. Obozo was more racist than Trump ever was or ever will be. Obama added $10 trillion to the national debt so there was over $21 trillion for our children and their children to grapple with.
The doomsday clock is currently set at 3 minutes to midnight
Unless American citizens start defecating money, the debt has put us all in deep doo-doo
"Democrats have painstakingly woven this ludicrous web of lies about some supposed 'collusion' between Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia. Anyone who was following Trump’s campaign knew that the campaign had a hard enough time colluding with itself on most day-to-day matters. The idea that they were colluding with a foreign government that speaks a different language was laughable on the spot. But, of course, the media took every bit of it totally seriously — hook, line and sinker. And they ran with it, clucking ceaselessly like so many Chicken Littles. . . . Under Barack Obama’s previous administration, America’s intelligence services were turned over to political partisans who spied on domestic political enemies and used the product of that illegal domestic espionage to punish them. [see The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote.] This actually happened. In America. In 2016. And yet, if you were a devoted consumer of most of the media in America the past two years, you very well may have never heard a word about it. The notion that an administration would spy on its political enemies at the height of a presidential campaign is absolutely terrifying. It is the sort of thing that happens in North Korea or Russia. Not in a constitutional republic." (Source: Hurt book: Trump talks Mexican rapists, Obama spying, Russia, Dem collusion with Facebook, Google, Charles Hurt, Washington Times)
The media took every bit of their Russian collusion investigation totally seriously — hook, line and sinker. And they ran with it, clucking ceaselessly like so many Chicken Littles
"The president may very well be energized by the tremendous unhinged pressure from the Left. After all, Mr. Hurt observes that '[t]o the very end, President Trump seems unafraid to tackle any topic or issue. Unlike the vast majority of politicians, he is not governed by the slightest hint of political correctness.' Part of Trump's political genius is his ability to scare the hell out of everyone in the room. He says things that are plainly true — but things nobody in a position of authority is willing to say. He lists objectives everyone agrees should be the goal — yet nobody says them because no one believes they can actually be achieved or those in power pay lip service to them with no intention of doing anything about them." As Donald Trump tweeted: "Check out a FANTASTIC new book, “STILL WINNING – Why America Went All In On Donald Trump-And Why We Must Do It Again” by the great writer, @CharlesHurt. An excellent read. Thank you!"
Trump tweeted that Hurt's STILL WINNING is a great book, which implies Trump reads anything besides tweets, which is nonsense
Still Winning: Why America Went All In on Donald Trump—And Why We Must Do It Again is "Recommended. An easy-to-read, witty travelogue through politics and the ways in which President Trump is turning things around while turning the establishment upside down. There's not a lot of new revelations here; it's just a very enjoyable read."—Joseph M. Sherlock
'Still Winning' is an easy-to-read, witty travelogue through politics and the ways in which President Trump is turning things around while turning the establishment upside down
Why We Must Do It Again is partially answered by this post by a rightwing thinker: "This is where the United States of America is today — at a crossroads between communism, relativism, violence, and dictatorial rule on the one hand and a return to the principles of liberty that made America the freest, wealthiest, most exceptional country in the history of mankind on the other. Obviously, no country can survive when millions of its own citizens hate everything it stands for and are hellbent on destroying it, beginning with its founding principles. What made the United States unique for more than two hundred years was that the vast majority of Americans were on the same page when it came to the morality, dignity, and civility needed to sustain and nourish a civilized society. Today, irrational hatred, anger, and violence are pushing the United States toward lawlessness. Make no mistake about it, the Radical Left is at war with the rule of law, at war with the Constitution, at war with civility, and at war with normal, everyday Americans" (Source: From Marx to Woodstock to Insanity: Part II, Robert Ringer, robertringer.com)
Obviously, no country can survive when millions of its own citizens hate everything it stands for and are hellbent on destroying it—the radical left wants to wreck or deface our monuments and replace capitalism with socialism
As the left wrecks our democracy and dishonors the Founders, these Founders are turning over in their graves
