The Cost: Trump, China, and American Revival
a book by Maria Bartiromo and James Freeman
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that The world needs a strong America, and America needs an economic revival after the Coronavirus season of shutdowns. Can the playbook that resulted in the greatest job market in history put Americans back to work?
From the first moments of his presidency, Donald J. Trump put US economic revival at the top of his agenda. Cutting red tape and slashing business tax rates made companies eager to locate in America again. A surge in corporate investment led to record numbers of US job openings.
The President’s critics styled themselves 'The Resistance,' as if they were confronting a tyrant at the head of an invading army rather than their duly elected President: much of the fake news media establishment regularly—and wrongly—accused him of betraying the country
But there was also another force at work at the start of the Trump era, and it’s impossible to provide a fair accounting of Trump’s governance without noting the unique obstacles he’s faced. The President’s critics styled themselves “The Resistance,” as if they were confronting a tyrant at the head of an invading army rather than their duly elected President. Much of the media establishment regularly—and wrongly—accused him of betraying the country. Most disturbing was the resistance movement inside government, formed even before the 2016 election, which unleashed unprecedented surveillance against Donald Trump.
The deadly Chinese covid-19 virus: was it a plot by radical Chinese commies to weaken us in advance of their military aggression?
The political and media warfare has never ended. Just as an impeachment case collapsed in the Senate earlier this year, the world was beginning to realize how large a threat the Chinese communist government had become—and what it had been hiding in Wuhan. The destruction caused by the coronavirus is the latest and greatest test for the Trump prosperity agenda.
Once again the health and wealth of the world depend on US leadership for economic revival. This is the story of the man US voters chose to lead in 2016 and will soon consider to lead again. As Bartiromo says, "We intend to make the case that Donald Trump is an underrated chief executive—and that the abuse of federal investigative power against him is the greatest scandal of his era."
With the FBI full of partisans out to dump Trump and send Crooked Hillary to the White House, the FISA court was duped by FBI crooks into approving a wiretap on a Trump campaign volunteer, but do we really want FBI crooks to spy on everyone on the planet?
Bartiromo said "Trump's critics styled themselves 'the Resistance,' as if they were confronting a tyrant at the head of an invading army rather than their duly elected president. Most disturbing was the resistance movement inside the federal government, which in 2016 included at least one FBI attorney falsifying an email and duping the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court into approving a wiretap on a Trump campaign volunteer. Reports from the Obama-appointed inspector general of the Justice Department and others revealed that a cabal at the FBI repeatedly misled the court in its effort to investigate Team Trump and failed to disclose that the bogus 'Steele dossier' of accusations against Trump was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign or that the government already had reasons to doubt it that were never shared in warrant applications. In December 2019 the court found that FBI personnel had provided information to the court 'which was unsupported or contradicted by information in their possession.' The court ordered the FBI 'in a sworn written submission' to explain what it was doing to prevent such abuses. In 2020 the Justice Department acknowledged that at least two of its approved warrants were invalid."
Once Trump was nominated as the G.O.P. candidate, Trump told the audience that America is a nation of believers, dreamers, and strivers being led by a group of censors, critics, and cynics; Exactly!
The FBI's surveillance of Trump associates is perhaps the worst abuse of federal power in recent history
Bartiromo said "The FBI's surveillance of Trump associates is perhaps the worst abuse of federal power in recent history. But fortunately a more encouraging trend was also happening in America at the dawn of the Trump era. A surge of optimism among business owners was translating into plans for new investment that would eventually lead to that record-setting job market. This surge of optimism caught much of the media by surprise."
The FBI spied on Trump and his associates and later lied about it
Trump was attacked because the do-nothing politicians and bureaucrats in the government all worked together to preserve the status quo and keep the swamp well stocked—it pissed them off when Trump started draining it
We are reminded in The Cost: Trump, China, and American Revival that President Trump delivered on most of his campaign promises despite relentless attacks from many of the establishment. Why attack him? The do-nothing politicians and bureaucrats (a.k.a. swamp creatures) in the government all worked together to preserve the status quo and keep the swamp well stocked. It pissed them off when Trump started draining it. They wanted business as usual, not the chaos of interference with their precious swamp. The previous politicians in the oval office had not kept their campaign promises (Bush, Clinton, Dubya, Obozo) and Trump made them all look bad when he DID keep his promises, so the Deep State acted to throw him out of office, but their Russia Hoax and Impeachment Hoax both failed.
While a candidate, Trump claimed that he would be the greatest jobs president that God ever created—and a couple years later he had become exactly that, creating record numbers of job openings
The mainstream media knew that Trump was right about their fake news, but it would be career suicide to admit it. Truth was not something that they were comfortable with
No wonder the public seems so confused and nothing ever changes. They're choking on misinformation!
The USA is no longer the nice little democracy it used to be—it is a shadow government and a puppet government (Biden will be Kamala Harris' sock puppet) and an oligarchy—not a democracy
The mainstream media knew that Trump was right about their fake news, but it would be career suicide to admit it. Truth was not something that they were comfortable with, although—happily—Fox News, National Review, and Washington Times were publishing the truth most of the time. Trump has achieved a successful presidency and yet the lying fake news media portrayed him as a failure. The USA is no longer the nice little democracy it used to be—it is a shadow government and a puppet government (Biden will be Kamala Harris' sock puppet) and an oligarchy—not a democracy. See Democracy—an American Delusion and Freedom of the Press—an American Delusion.

“Objective journalism is dead. Today’s leftist ‘news’ media are activist hacks working relentlessly to destroy conservatism, to literally eliminate it – and the people who live and believe in it. Everywhere they can, they want to bury it and us. Think that’s too harsh? You better read Unmasked.” — Rush Limbaugh
“Brent Bozell and I have fought together in the trenches for many, many years. He’s an indispensable warrior in the cause of liberty and against the arrogant elites in the press.” — Mark R. Levin, New York Times bestselling author
"In this fascinating examination of the media’s war on Donald Trump, Bozell and his coauthor Tim Graham expose the weaponized and radicalized “news” media as a direct threat to democracy with their unethical attempts to manipulate public opinion." -- CBN
"The liberal media will fear Unmasked. But to the rest of America, Unmasked: Big Media's War Against Trump is a much needed tonic of truth and facts the left so fears in Brent Bozell and his years of exposing the lies of the liberal media." -- Craig Shirley, New York Times Bestselling Author
The mainstream media have all jumped aboard the Trump hate train—they don't even bother to make the pretense of objectivity or fairness
The Cost: Trump, China, and American Revival, by Maria Bartiromo and partner James Freeman, is an insightful book that all Americans should read. The book is an outstanding read that is well written and fast paced. It covers Trump's time in office. We get reminded that the President delivered on most of his campaign promises despite relentless attacks from many of the establishment and the fake news purveyors in the media.
