American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies That the Government Tells Us
a book by Jesse Ventura
(our site's book review)
In this explosive account of wrongful acts and ensuing cover-ups, former Minnesota governor, patriot, and navy SEAL Jesse Ventura takes a systematic look at the wide gap between what the government knows and when the government knows it, and what is revealed to the American people and when it is revealed. The media is complicit in these acts of deception, often refusing to consider alternate possibilities and dismissing voices that diverge from public opinion, because our free press is a distant memory—see Freedom of the Press—an American Delusion. In American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies That the Government Tells Us, Ventura looks closely at the theories that have been presented over the years and examines the truth, as well as the lies.

The unelected elites are the lords of secrecy—they are unaccountable, secret, and beyond our reach, yet they run things

Dubya Bush the Liar lied us into the illegal Iraq invasion

The only president to ever out-lie Bush is OBomb'em who gave us ISIS and the NSA spying on our own citizens
Ventura embarks on a pursuit for truth to unveil what our government is doing behind closed doors. "I’ve put together this book in the same spirit as the WikiLeaks’ disclosures – to reveal the truth." Ventura explains. "It’s become crystal clear that our democracy has been undermined from within and it’s been going on for a long time." See Democracy—an American Delusion. He implores all Americans to challenge unnecessary secrecy—like WikiLeaks does, challenging the fact that our government is classifying nearly everything these days which makes one wonder if they are ashamed of their actions since they see fit to hide them in the shadows. Always ask: what are they hiding? Ventura's book looks at the questions surrounding assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK. See Hunt's Deathbed Confession Reveals JFK Killers. Then he tackles 9/11, asking all the right questions, unwilling to drink the Kool-Aid the administration has served us or the pablum the media has spoon-fed us.

Intelligent people easily drank the Kool-Aid because they simply found themselves unable to emotionally accept that there's a shadow government in the U.S. that is willing to perpetrate the unthinkable to further their own ends
A 2006 Scripps Howard poll found that more than one-third of Americans are convinced that the federal government directed, aided, or took no action to prevent the attacks on 9-11. (Internationally, the statistics are even more dire—world citizens do not like drinking the type of Kool-Aid the USA serves up—although they do like the tasty drink from Kraft Foods. About 15 percent said the U.S. government perpetrated the attacks for the purpose of justifying an impending U.S. invasion of Iraq. And 9/11 Commission actions were part of a coverup, say 42% of people.) What do the following have in common?: The report of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (established by Dubya and the United States Congress), and the FBI's investigation of the attacks of 9/11 (code-named “PENTTBOM," it was their largest investigation ever and it mainly focused on hijackers and their sponsors—note the code name that told the real truth; it stands for Pentagon Twin Towers Bombing). The words "national" or "federal" (FBI) are what they all have in common. All found nothing fishy about 9/11 and all bought the ridiculous and counterintuitive story of hijackers being behind it all. The word national—or merely the word federal in FBI—denotes that Dubya and his flunkies were in charge of instructing them, or pressuring them, or sending CIA people to intimidate them, just like what happened with the Warren Commission about JFK—a transparent coverup if there ever was one.

World Trade Center attack on 9/11
The 9/11 Commission was the same type of lame coverup, with evidence missing that the commission needed to see, and with instructions to ignore anything shady that pointed toward the government or Bush. (The metal wreckage from the towers was immediately shipped to China and India, where it was melted down, and was never examined as forensic evidence. Witnesses were telling everyone about the explosions they heard before the buildings fell, but investigators ignored this critical evidence.) But the problems with investigations goes much deeper: Investigators were psychologically pre-inclined to find according to what had now become the CW—the conventional wisdom that those damn hijackers did it. People need to feel safe and they had a deep psychological need for daddies in the government to watch out for them, and if the scum that perpetuated the attacks were in our own (shadow) government, then we are on our own and not one bit safe.

The original WTC investigators test the official story of neatly pancaking floors—note that because they're blind, they're unable to hit the pancakes—or even melt the butter
So in the service of such deep insecurities and fears and biases and needs, evidence and facts and damning implications could be overlooked—or just repressed. And they were. But people—including hundreds of scientists—who were NOT beholden to government, and whose jobs would not be endangered by telling the truth, did a deep investigation into the matter and did not let fear of the government get in their way. See WTC Building 7 and WTC7 collapse and 9/11 Ten Years Later: When State Crimes against Democracy Succeed and How America Was Lost: From 9/11 to the Police/Welfare State.

The official version of 9/11 stinks as bad as the version where an alien zaps the buildings from a saucer
One reviewer of Ventura's book finds it a combination of good and bad arguments, weak and strong facts. He feels he exposes "a fatal fallacy in Ventura's analyses: If Jesse Ventura can't imagine that an explanation could be that simple, why then it can't be true. Note also the false-choice logical fallacy Ventura makes: either you believe the official story of the lone nut or there's someone else 'running the show.'" The reviewer has a point. However, Ventura does us a favor in probing matters that need probing. We'd added our own 9/11 analysis to Ventura's 9/11 analysis, above, as it gives better depth and insight to a very important matter.
John Farmer, a senior counsel for the 9/11 Commission who drafted the original [9/11] report, said that "At some level of the government, at some point in time ... there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened [on 9/11]." . . . "[There were] many firefighters and other eyewitnesses who talked about a whole series of explosions before and during the collapse of the buildings," but investigators ignored this critical evidence—and a lot else.
Jesse Ventura said that "I am convinced that some people inside our government knew the [9/11] attack was going to happen and allowed it to come to pass--because it furthered their political agenda. I don't necessarily believe that they orchestrated it themselves, although the door is definitely open to that. . . . NORAD [North American Aerospace Defense Command] ... had been ordered to stand down [on 9/11]. Then LAX [Los Angeles International Airport] Security wanted to know who could have made that order. And word came back that it was from the highest level of the White House . . . [President] Bush . . . was reading 'My Pet Goat' to the school kids in Florida, so the only other person it could be was Dick Cheney. . . . September 11 [2001] was the second day of Vigilant Guardian, an exercise of the Joint Chiefs and NORAD that simulated planes being hijacked in the Northeastern United States . . . Could the attack have been scheduled intentionally to coincide with those war games? If so, this raises a couple of questions. Either there was a major intelligence leak, whereby the terrorists realized the war games would be a good cover for their operation. Or else some people in the administration knew of the attack ahead of time and let it proceed simultaneously, knowing the confusion this would cause. . . . Between September 2000 and June 2001, on 67 different occasions fighter jets were sent to intercept aircraft that had lost radio contact or their transponder signal or were flying off course, usually within ten minutes of any sign of a problem. . . . Then, on June 1, 2001, the existing hijacking response procedures were changed to require approval by the secretary of defense before responding to a situation with lethal force. And when the call came into the Pentagon on 9/11, nobody answered the phone! . . . A firefighter who got dug out of the rubble on 9/11 said "The one thing that always troubled me is, why were they in such a hurry to remove all the evidence? Why did they take away everything from the site as fast and expediently as possible?" These are great observations, Jesse, based on capable investigations.

According to Bush, reading stories is more important than terrorists attacking our cities

The Pentagon attack on 9/11

Any unbiased, rational investigator could only conclude that neither a Boeing 757 nor any other airplane flew into the Pentagon as alleged—it was a damned lie
General Smedley Butler says that "[War is] largely a matter of money. Bankers lend money to foreign countries and when they cannot repay, the President sends Marines to get it. I know--I've been in eleven of these expeditions."
Georgetown University professor Carroll Quigley tells us, in his book Tragedy and Hope, [The goal of a cabal of global financiers linked to J.P. Morgan and Company was] "nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole."
"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act."—George Orwell
"No matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what the government is actually doing is worse than you imagine."—William Blum

William Blum says that no matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what the government is actually doing is worse than you imagine
"To oppose the policies of a government does not mean you are against the country or the people that the government supposedly represents. Such opposition should be called what it really is: democracy, or democratic dissent, or having a critical perspective about what your leaders are doing. Either we have the right to democratic dissent and criticism of these policies or we all lie down and let the leader, the Fuhrer, do what is best, while we follow uncritically, and obey whatever he commands. That's just what the Germans did with Hitler, and look where it got them."—Michael Parenti
"Some believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."—David Rockefeller in his Memoirs
"The United States has entered the ranks of the failed states. One of the most remarkable manifestations of a failed state is that the criminals are all inside the government operating against the people, whereas in a normal state, the criminals are on the outside of the government, operating against it. So, we now have every manifestation of being a failed state, with the government in the hands of a few Wall Street gangsters."—Paul Craig Roberts

The government is in the hands of a few Wall Street gangsters who run it like a puppet master
"When and if fascism finally takes hold in America, the basic forms of government will remain... Fascism will appear to be friendly. The legislators will be in session. There will be elections, and the news media will continue to cover the entertainment and political trivia. Consent of the governed, however, will no longer apply. Actual control will have finally passed to the oligarchic elite controlling the government behind the scenes."—John W. Whitehead
"As the United States repeatedly demonstrates how easily it can manipulate elections and exploit popular unrest, while hypocritically preaching about democracy, developing countries may conclude that authoritarian government may be their best survival option. The result: democracy will be left in the dustbin of history." (Source: THIRD WORLD TRAVELER)

As the world sees what a farce democracy turned out to be for the U.S., they will turn to authoritarianism, leaving democracy in the dustbin of history

Osama bin Laden
The official word is that: The 19 hijackers on 9/11 were all fanatic Muslim terrorists linked to al-Qaeda and its ringleader, Osama bin Laden.
Ventura's take: Our government engaged in a massive cover-up of what really happened, including its own ties to the hijackers.
To the degree he only partly makes his 9/11 case, we say nice respectable try, Jesse, but folks, do check out:
