But it is true (the game is rigged and the democracy has been nullified by workarounds), and thousands of people have realized it and hundreds of them have written about it. The evidence has been there for a long time, but it has arrived in dribs and drabs, and only especially perceptive people capable of seeing the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts get the prerequisite insights and reach the startling conclusions. We all have perceived that something is haywire or fishy or off or doesn't add up about this country we love—the U.S. But we had/have lives to live, and years of investigating and putting the pieces together were necessary for investigators to see the whole picture, and few of us have the time or would know how to go about it.
Something stinks in Washington: our democracy, our politicians, our imperialist wars none of us want but we seem stuck with them anyway—something is very rotten!
But a few people that were in the system got guilty and decided to tell what they knew, naming names and revealing things that the elite did not want known. The elite were able to keep their scheming exploitation hidden until a thing called the Internet came along. In such a totally changed world where nothing seems to remain hidden for long (NSA spying, whistleblowers, etc.), too many people knew too much and blabbed too often and exposed too much, so the past shadow government where no one had that many ways to get wise to their schemes gave way to the present shadow government where truth is busting out all over. Folks, be VERY glad about that, since it is virtually the only hope this country has!
What happens if the elite's secret influence and ugly tactics are exposed for all to see? The U.S. gets a chance to restore decent government. So expose these jerks any and every way that you can!
Heck, look at the facts yourself: the vast majority of Americans feel the government is untrustable, and the country is headed in the wrong direction, and special interests rule the roost. The PEOPLE do not want the Bush-Obama wars. And yet they continue. The PEOPLE do not want us to spend ourselves into bankrupcy so our kids do not have a fighting chance. And yet this continues. The PEOPLE keep coming from a position of blind trust in their government, so they keep voting for change. And yet things stay the same except that they get worse.
Did you vote for Obama because he said he would change things for the better and yet he made everything much, much worse, and you have finally started to realize that they are all rotten liars who do whatever is best for themselves and their buddies no matter WHAT they promised? But why did this happen? Is it that America contains nothing but rotten liars, or that all politicians are horrible people? Nope. Come on now—you can do it—think, how could all this happen so that almost everything about this country's government and leadership is going to hell in a handbasket and IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER WHO VOTES FOR WHOM OR WHAT POLICIES WE SUPPORT?

More facts: the U.S. has been embarked upon a quest of empire building since WWII (see A Game As Old As Empire: The Secret World of Economic Hit Men and the Web of Global Corruption), and yet how often did they inform you of this or get your approval or even admit what they were up to? Never. Folks, they really didn't give a damn what we thought about their ambitions. To rule the world, you must first destroy national sovereignty. You must consolidate and control the real levers of power, regardless of the different forms of government that appear in each country. . . . Arnold J. Toynbee (a high-ranking member of the Network who operated from a front group: the Royal Institute of International Affairs), wrote: "I will hereby repeat that we are at present working discreetly but with all of our might to wrest this mysterious political force called sovereignty out of the clutches of the local national states of our world. And all the time we are denying with our lips what we are doing with our hands." (The Council on Foreign Relations is nothing more than a front group for the Network, just like the Royal Institute of International Affairs.)
This hostile, mercenary policy toward national sovereignty shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Council on Foreign Relations is simply a creation of the Network that was generated to help the Network achieve its nefarious goals. Almost all of America’s leadership has come from this small group. That includes presidents and their advisors, cabinet members, ambassadors, board members of the Federal Reserve System, directors of the largest banks and investment houses, presidents of universities, and heads of metropolitan newspapers, news services, and TV networks. Don't take our word for it—look it up yourself.
By seizing control of US foreign policy, the Network could now access the untapped military, economic, and political resources of America. It could utilize said resources to pursue its sovereignty-destruction project. As a bonus, it could lay the political consequences and inescapable debt on the United States. And that’s exactly what it has done.

For instance, since it was founded in 1947, the CIA (which the Network created) has been used to destabilize and topple dozens of uncooperative nations covertly while the US military (controlled by “policy makers” that are dominated by the Network) has been used to topple dozens directly. The costs and negative consequences are laid on the United States while the benefits go to the Network. Here is a scary thought about the future: When the Network is satisfied that all major obstacles to its global rule have been erased, it will simply destroy the US dollar, cut off the flow of money and credit to the U.S., and then create the political incentive necessity for the United States to fully accept rule from the new global system.
Even if only one out of one thousand people are genius-level sociopaths (the percentage is probably much higher), that equals seven million potential recruits for the Network to draw from as leadership material without qualms, morals, or conscience.
To the voters, the idea of a highly organized shadow government, operating at the direct expense of the governed, is laughed off without investigation, except for those of us voters who are actually good at thinking. Folks, did you
REALLY think that our nation's slide into the dungheap is simply "bad luck" or the "will of God" or a result of electing really stupid leaders?! In your heart you know it is no such thing! Do you REALLY believe that our loss of many of our rights and much of our privacy lately is about "terrorist protection," like they claim?! If so, we have a bridge we'd like to sell you!

- Competing Currencies: Stop Using the Network’s Money (Develop and use competing currencies—use gold and silver coins or Bitcoin.)

- Nullification: Refuse to Comply, Refuse to Convict (State nullification of federal laws like the fed's anti-pot laws, and also jury nullification of a verdict because the law seems wrong.)

To conquer a nation financially, use two simple steps:
- Create shortfalls in government revenue. (Either by increasing the amount of money a government spends, decreasing the amount of money a government collects, or both.)
- Create loans out of thin air to “help” the “leaders” cover their spending shortfalls without correcting the underlying financial imbalance. (Banks create money out of thin air all the time.)

The shadow government believes that the key to controlling the world lies in the application of secret political and economic influence and secret control of journalistic, educational, and propaganda agencies. Based on their impressive list of global accomplishments, it certainly appears as if these crooked ass clowns are right. But what happens if their secret influence and ugly tactics are exposed for all to see? Could they continue to get away with their crimes? Plummer asks: "Could they continue to manipulate us into wars, bury us beneath inescapable debt, and con us into surrendering our sovereignty? The answer, by their own estimation, is no." As long as corporations are the main deciding force in elections rather than the citizens, democracy will be impossible
