They point out that the entire structure of power that held the world together is now disintegrating because of the radically new knowledge-based system for wealth creation that transforms work, capital and money itself, and therefore power at every level of society. People supporting the Second Wave industry-based system are in conflict with people supporting the knowledge-based system of the Third Wave, which is totally dependent on the instant communication and dissemination of data.
