American Marxism
a book by Mark R. Levin
(our site's book review)
The Amazon blurb says that #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER. The seven-time #1 New York Times bestselling author, Fox News star, and radio host Mark R. Levin explains how the dangers he warned against in the “timely yet timeless” (David Limbaugh, author of Jesus Is Risen) bestseller Liberty and Tyranny have come to pass.
In 2009, Mark R. Levin galvanized conservatives with his unforgettable manifesto Liberty and Tyranny, by providing a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for halting the liberal assault on Constitution-based values. That book was about standing at the precipice of progressivism’s threat to our freedom and now, over a decade later, we’re fully over that precipice and paying the price.

Liberty and Tyranny was about standing at the precipice of progressivism’s threat to our freedom, and now American Marxism is about liberals leading us to fall off
In American Marxism, Levin explains how the core elements of Marxist ideology are now pervasive in American society and culture—from our schools, the press, and corporations, to Hollywood, the Democratic Party, and the Biden presidency—and how it is often cloaked in deceptive labels like “progressivism,” “democratic socialism,” “social activism,” and more. With his characteristic trenchant analysis, Levin digs into the psychology and tactics of these movements, the widespread brainwashing of students, the anti-American purposes of Critical Race Theory and the Green New Deal, and the escalation of repression and censorship to silence opposing voices and enforce conformity. Levin exposes many of the institutions, intellectuals, scholars, and activists who are leading this revolution, and provides us with some answers and ideas on how to confront them.

As Levin writes: “The counter-revolution to the American Revolution is in full force. And it can no longer be dismissed or ignored for it is devouring our society and culture, swirling around our everyday lives, and ubiquitous in our politics, schools, media, and entertainment.” And, like before, Levin seeks to rally the American people to defend their liberty.

Levin's American Marxism is a call to arms
As Levin tells us, "The counter-revolution is . . . ubiquitous in our politics, schools, media, and entertainment. Once a mostly unrelatable, fringe, and subterranean movement, it is here—it is everywhere. You, your children, and your grandchildren are now immersed in it, and it threatens to destroy the greatest nation ever established, along with your freedom, family, and security. Of course, the primary difference between the counterrevolution and the American Revolution is that the former seeks to destroy American society and impose autocratic rule, and the latter sought to protect American society and institute representative government.

"The counterrevolution or movement of which I speak is Marxism. But the application and adaption of core Marxist teachings to American society and culture—what I call American Marxism—must be addressed and confronted, lest we are smothered by its modern manifestations. And make no mistake, the situation today is dire. In America, many Marxists cloak themselves in phrases like “progressives,” “Democratic Socialists,” “social activists,” “community activists,” etc., as most Americans remain openly hostile to the name Marxism.

Americans remain openly hostile to the name Marxism
"They operate under myriad newly minted organizational or identifying nomenclatures, such as “Black Lives Matter” (BLM), “Antifa,” “The Squad,” etc. And they claim to promote “economic justice,” “environmental justice,” “racial equity,” “gender equity,” etc. They have invented new theories, like Critical Race Theory, and phrases and terminologies, linked to or fit into a Marxist construct. Moreover, they claim “the dominant culture” and capitalist system are unjust and inequitable, racist and sexist, colonialist and imperialist, materialistic and destructive of the environment."

Colleges teach grievance, “racial equity,” “gender equity,” and Critical Race Theory via indoctrination—and you're gonna PAY for such an 'education'?!
Of course, the purpose of all this destructiveness and subversion is to wreck the nation for a thousand reasons and in a thousand ways, thereby dispiriting and demoralizing the public. This will get them sad and depressed enough to accept the inevitable Marxism to come, although they'll have the nerve to call it social democracy or something similarly innocuous.

In order to subvert effectively, they utilize propaganda and indoctrination and the teachers—and liberals themselves—expect conformity and compliance
In order to subvert effectively, they utilize propaganda and indoctrination and the teachers—and liberals themselves—expect conformity and compliance. They silence other positions and opinions and resort to cancelling serious offenders, hoping to ruin the offenders' lives so they crawl under a rock and die.
Hard working Americans, families, individuals, etc. are busy with their day to day lives and are oblivious to the march of the radical Left to destroy the United States as it exists and replace it with a Marxist Utopian Hell on Earth.

The radical Left is out to destroy the United States as it exists and replace it with a Marxist Utopian Hell on Earth

In the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, the Thought Police are the secret police who discover and punish thoughtcrime, unapproved personal and political thoughts—very much like how radical leftists react to conservative thought today
Liberals rewrite history very much like the workers in the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. This ministry controls information: news, entertainment, education, and the arts. Winston Smith works in the Records Department, "rectifying" historical records to accord with Big Brother's current pronouncements so that everything the Party says appears to be true. Schools across the country have already adopted the Times’ radical revision of history as part of their curricula. Should children be taught that our nation is a four-hundred-year-old system of racist oppression? Or should they learn that what has always made America exceptional is our pursuit of liberty and justice for all?
The liberals have The 1619 Project—a false narrative conjured out of racial grievance, a narrative which throws out the proAmerican, proFounders, patriotic version of history and replaces it with an ugly version where everything the Founders did was because of white supremacy beliefs and racism. The purpose of this ugly racist version of history is to get you to hate the USA so you'll submit to their Marxist takeover and taking control of our nation.

Slaves picking cotton
The 1619 Project is out to destroy America, thereby making the New York Times co-conspirators in their treasonous endeavor. Most Americans love their country and have little patience for politically correct liberal extremists who seem anti-American, socialist, Marxist, obsessed with identity politics, and most of all angry, hateful, intolerant, biased, and willing to dump democracy, freedom, capitalism, patriotism, the Constitution, and—especially—freedom of speech. It is time to boycott the New York Times as anti-American, socialist propagandists who care nothing for truth or history but are willing to kowtow to ugly Marxist lies thereby making both China and Russia very happy but thinking Americans very unhappy.

You might well ask WHY would the 1619 Project want to destroy America and flush the Founders down the toilet; the short answer is to gain power and wealth for the liberal elite

Marxism is utopianism—the false promise of the good life full of rainbows and unicorns
Why would anyone fall for the delusion that is Marxism? It's the utopianism—the false promise of the good life full of rainbows and unicorns, equality without exploitation, and justice without injustice. The trouble with these grand social plans is that in spite of the majestic words of charismatic leaders, they all lead to class warfare, individual subjugation and tyranny. Which is why the Marxist utopias of Russia and China quickly led to genocide and mass misery, not mass utopia. Marxism is a con game. It wasn't designed that way, but endless greed and lust for power in very fallible humans lacking common decentcy led in bad directions punctuated by endless bleeding corpses.

The tyranny that is Marxism relies on 'useful idiots' for its success. Simply paint them a glorious picture of utopian bliss with equality and racial justice and they'll ask 'Where do I sign?'
Marxism relies on "useful idiots" for its success. These are individuals and organizations that are unimpressed by and unaware of the signs of approaching tyranny and misery. These naifs are participants in their own demise as well as their country's demise. For most, Marxism has a way of sneaking up on us, wrecking our lives and our country before we have a clue about what is going on. The useful idiots have no idea that Marxism would or even could influence and even dominate the country they love. But, as the Founders told us, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. I.e., lack of vigilance, since the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

Radicals not only plotted to devour virtually every institution and facet of American society, but have succeeded in their infiltration—here they eat the Capitol
"Levin makes an irrefutable case that radicals not only plotted to devour virtually every institution and facet of American society, but have succeeded in their infiltration."

The only way the radicals could have succeeded at their takeover is if we had our heads up our butts

Most Americans love their country and have little patience for politically correct liberal extremists who seem willing to dump democracy
Levin wrote American Marxism to warn the patriotiic Americans who love their country, freedoms, and families, of Marxism's rapidly spreading influence. In the early 1900s, many on the Right were warning us about Communism. Well, American Marxism has already spread much more virulently than American Communism ever did or covid-19 ever did, and we may be reaching the point of no return. Then Marxism replaces democracy and you can kiss freedom goodbye. It's a bait-and-switch operation: people come for the virtue signaling about antiracism and equality and equity and when that turns out to be merely the lure, pretty paint on anti-American Marxism, people will look around blinking in a totalitarian tyranny without freedom and ask "What happened?" This has happened to many countries around the world, and it's irreversible—like the Roach Motel, bugs check in but they don't check out.

The goal of progressive mass movements is totalitarianism
"Why the massive interest and circulation of Levin’s book? American Marxism eliminates speculation and presents verbatim the words of the extremists who believe in complete destruction of American society. That’s not hyperbole, Levin shows that time and again it’s in their mission statement. . . . the goal of these [progressive] mass movements is totalitarianism." (Source: “American Marxism” by Mark R. Levin — the book review, Paul Leslie)
“Marxism never liberates; however, it does reliably empower its leaders to be tyrants who enslave others in the name of liberation [i.e., Venezuela]. . . . If any worldview has ever been utterly discredited by history (let alone logic), it is Marxism.” (Source: American Marxism Book Review, Douglas Groothuis, Ph.D.)
Since the radical leftists' most critical bugaboo is slavery, they need to look forward to when Marxist leaders will be "tyrants who enslave others in the name of liberation." Is a return to slavery really what they want? If the "woke" do not want slavery, they need to get off the Marxist path they are on. See also Leftist Fascism
