I Can't Breathe: How a Racial Hoax Is Killing America

a book by David Horowitz

(our site's book review)

A Brilliant Examination of the Actual Facts of the George Floyd Case and the Subsequent Exploitation of His Death by Black Lives Matter

The Amazon blurb says that THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MARTYRS

“This book is essential. Don’t miss it.” —MARK LEVIN

“A brilliant examination of the actual facts of the George Floyd case and the subsequent exploitation of his death by Black Lives Matter.” —LEO TERRELL, civil rights attorney and commentator

In his latest salvo in the battle for America’s survival, David Horowitz exposes the racial hoax that is spawning riots and dividing the nation. Examining the twenty-six most notorious cases of police “racism”— from Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown to George Floyd and Breonna Taylor—Horowitz demonstrates that Black Lives Matter has lied about every one of them in its quest to undermine law and order, fuel race hatred, and destroy America.

In Case After Case, the Lies and Mythmaking Break Down Under Horowitz’s Scrutiny

In case after case, the lies and mythmaking break down under Horowitz’s scrutiny. Even the chief prosecutor in the George Floyd case was forced to admit that he had no evidence of racial bias, while Breonna Taylor, the longtime accomplice of a major drug dealer, was killed when she and her boyfriend resisted arrest.

The unchallenged myths about racist murders by the police have brought mayhem and crime to our cities, where the victims are predominantly black

The unchallenged myths about racist murders by the police have brought mayhem and crime to our cities, where the victims are predominantly black. They are also a slander against the United States, the least racist country in history, and against black Americans, the vast majority of whom are successful and law-abiding citizens.

The Biden Administration Has Embraced the False Narratives of “Systemic Racism” and “White Supremacy,” Which Supposedly Infect Every Aspect of American Life

Now the Biden administration has embraced the false narrative of “systemic racism” and “white supremacy,” which supposedly infect every aspect of American life, using it to justify a witch hunt for “domestic terrorists.” Most Americans, black and white, know in their bones that this portrayal of their country is a lie. An unflinching and courageous accounting, I Can't Breathe: How a Racial Hoax Is Killing America is the urgently needed proof that they are right.

Horowitz says "The chant “No Justice, No Peace!” accompanied by such large-scale violence made clear that the remedy envisaged was not—and could not be—a reform within existing institutions. To make the changes necessary to secure “justice,” the system must be dismantled first, and then “reimagined,” to use the in-vogue radical verb. The message was clear: the only acceptable solutions were extreme measures. Only a revolutionary force outside the “system” could fix it, even though the systems in cities like Minneapolis and all the other major centers of the violence were entirely controlled by liberal Democrats who had endorsed the Black Lives Matter movement. Apparently, those liberals shared the goals of the radicals but lacked the spine to achieve them.

Black Lives Matter Has Grown Big Enough to Threaten Civil Order on a National Scale

"Six years earlier, Black Lives Matter had instigated similar riots over a similar arrest in Ferguson, Missouri. The principal differences between the civil violence in Ferguson and Minneapolis were scope and scale. The Ferguson street battles, arsons, and lootings were mainly confined to one city and lasted roughly one month. But in the intervening years, Black Lives Matter had grown in number and capability to the point where it could now threaten civil order on a national scale. Its increased power was fueled by tens of millions of dollars donated by tax-exempt foundations; major American companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon; and wealthy individuals on the political left, such as George Soros and LeBron James. During the 2020 sieges, hundreds of millions of additional dollars in donations from corporate America and celebrities in entertainment and sports flowed into the war chest of Black Lives Matter, making it the most powerful radical movement in American history."

Black Lives Matter Wishes to Destroy America

Black Lives Matter wishes to destroy America. They rarely ever talk about what they wish to put in its place, but when they do, they're describing a Marxist hell of complete control by the government, where they own our seized property and guns and we get constant brainwashing and propaganda and just enough food to work hard as government slaves.

In American Marxism, Levin explains how the core elements of Marxist ideology are now pervasive in American society and culture—from our schools, the press, and corporations, to Hollywood, the Democratic Party, and the Biden presidency—and how it is often cloaked in deceptive labels like “progressivism,” “democratic socialism,” “social activism,” and more. With his characteristic trenchant analysis, Levin digs into the psychology and tactics of these movements, the widespread brainwashing of students, the anti-American purposes of Critical Race Theory and the Green New Deal, and the escalation of repression and censorship to silence opposing voices and enforce conformity. Levin exposes many of the institutions, intellectuals, scholars, and activists who are leading this revolution, and provides us with some answers and ideas on how to confront them.

The primary difference between the counterrevolution and the American Revolution is that the former seeks to destroy American society and impose autocratic rule, and the latter sought to protect American society and institute representative government.

“Horowitz blows the lid off Black Lives Matter lies and exposes the damage the movement has done to the black community.” —Larry Elder, New York Times bestselling author and host of The Larry Elder Show

"The book also examines the cases of the most significant and highly publicized “martyrs” mourned and lionized by the BLM movement – i.e., blacks whose deaths resulted, for the most part, from violent interactions with white police officers. When one reads the accounts of their deaths, the pattern that emerges is unmistakable: In case after case, the martyrs were longtime hardened and violent criminals with volcanic tempers who refused to cooperate with police, often fled from police, and sometimes even tried to murder police. Moreover, in many instances the suspects were severely impaired by their recent consumption of large quantities of alcohol or mind-altering drugs. The absurdity of blaming police for being unable to reach harmonious resolutions with such disturbed characters, is self-evident to anyone who reads the damning summaries of these encounters.

“If Black Lives Matter were a civil rights organization,” Horowitz trenchantly observes, “one would reasonably expect its patron figure to be Martin Luther King, and its aspiration to be King’s vision of a race-free America where individuals are judged on their merits and not by their skin color. Instead, the revered figure and inspirational icon for Black Lives Matter activists is a designated terrorist and convicted cop killer: Assata Shakur.” Formerly known as Joanne Chesimard, Shakur is a lifelong Marxist revolutionary who once belonged to the Black Liberation Army, an organization that achieved its fame by robbing banks and murdering cops. Having escaped from prison in 1979 with the help of left-wing terrorists, Shakur has lived for decades as a fugitive in Communist Cuba. . . . “If Black Lives Matter were a civil rights organization,” Horowitz writes further, “one might reasonably expect its leaders to condemn or at least distance themselves from well-known race haters like Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton. But Black Lives Matter leaders embrace both of those demagogues.”" (Source: The Racial Hoax That’s Killing America, John Perazzo, Front Page Magazine)

The racism-everywhere lie has colossal implications, for it has caused countless millions of African Americans to view themselves as nothing more than pathetic, eternal victims of contemptible white oppressors

"We live in an age of many lies, and David Horowitz’s I Can’t Breathe lays bare what is perhaps the most destructive lie of them all: the claim that America is a congenitally racist nation where, as Vice President Kamala Harris puts it, black people have “never been treated as fully human.” This lie has colossal implications, for it has caused countless millions of African Americans to view themselves as nothing more than pathetic, eternal victims of contemptible white oppressors, while simultaneously causing untold millions of well-meaning, non-racist whites to rebel angrily against being wrongly smeared as bigots. If ever a lie was destined to poison race relations and breed mutual contempt between blacks and whites, it is this one. But now, with a stirring assault of hard facts and blunt candor, I Can’t Breathe pounds and grinds this leftist lie into dust. In the process, the book exposes Black Lives Matter (BLM) as a violent, malevolent movement founded by Marxist revolutionaries whose principal objective is not to promote racial justice, but to foment a race war that will tear our nation apart by any means necessary."
