Dan Cullen is or was an interviewer from Director Information Dept., American Booksellers Association. His interview was with Faith Popcorn, the author of The Popcorn Report : Faith Popcorn on the Future of Your Company, Your World, Your Life, one of the most famous trend analysis books. In it she—among other things—looks at the dangers in our world that are leading to a siege mentality, and to cocooning, which is to say staying home for safety and security and trying to avoid going out and encountering the risks in the cruel world. People worry about terrorism, germs, crazies, etc. This leads more people to go online to satisfy needs rather than going outside.
