Conscious Evolution: Awakening Our Social Potential
a book by Barbara Marx Hubbard
(our site's book review)
Hubbard advocates conscious evolution—an attempt to push forward evolution through higher consciousness, matured technology, and the emancipation of human creativity. Humanity used to be at effect of evolution. But now we can be at cause and choose what we will become.

Jesus
The massive social symptoms are underlining the fact that conscious evolution is not a luxury or an indulgence but a necessity. Is this about religion? “The real point is not to worship someone like Jesus or Buddha, but to be and do as they did,” she says.

In other words, develop good, humanitarian, compassionate character, wisdom, and insight, and find and use the best knowledge. This is a very Third Wave outlook. It’s vital that we use our new scientific, genetic, creative powers for positive evolutionary purposes. Three conditions empower the advent of conscious evolution: the new cosmology in physics, our new crises (the power to destroy ourselves), and our new capacities in the areas of science as well as the social and spiritual realm. We can transform the world through deliberate, conscious intervention.

She advises us to: “. . . find our life partners and teammates and form creative enterprises and support groups to actualize our potential . . . [and] work together consciously for a collective global awakening that we are all members of one family—a ‘planetary birth experience’ in our lifetime. . . . We need images of social wellness to attract us forward. We need a mass media to communicate our evolutionary potentials. We need radical education at all levels in self-esteem, cooperation, self-actualization. . . . And we need a ‘peace room,’ in contrast to a ‘war room.’ It would scan for innovations, creative models, and projects that are working in every field, map them according to function and geography, connect up the people doing the innovative work in order to develop the synergies, and then communicate constantly through the media to the public about what’s emerging that’s working.”

The Forest Through The Trees
Our website The Big Answer gives us “images of social wellness to attract us forward.” Examples to emulate are the most effective learning strategy known. The best examples you'll find on this planet are found in The Forest Through The Trees and in the Scenarios.
